A beggar had been sitting by the side of a road for over thirty years. One day a stranger walked by. “Spare some change?” mumbled the beggar, mechanically holding out his old baseball cap. “I have nothing to give you,” said the stranger. Then the stranger asked: “What’s that you are sitting on?” “Nothing,” replied the beggar. “Just an old box. I have been sitting on it for as long as I can remember.” “Ever looked inside?” asked the stranger. “No,” said the beggar. “What’s the point? There’s nothing in there.” “Have a look inside,” insisted the stranger. The beggar managed to pry open the lid. With astonishment, disbelief and elation, he saw that the box was filled with gold.

What is coaching?

As a Transformational Coach, I trust that the wisdom and clarity you are looking for is already within you. It is buried beneath your confusion, pain, and busyness.

I meet you exactly where you are in your life right now. Without judgment and with openness, I honour you as a strong and capable person who needs a peer’s support, mentorship and experience to help you see the woods from the trees.

Coaching is a space just for you where I listen deeply to you as well as ask intuitively led questions that dive deeper into any challenges you may have.Together, we examine your thoughts and beliefs that lay the foundation for your experience in the world.

Questioning of thoughts and beliefs

We can become very attached to our thoughts and inherited belief systems which when unchecked or unexamined can become a great cause of our suffering. Oftentimes our thoughts and beliefs are but by-products of a painful past, without questioning their validity, we may continue to repeat the pain over and over again. In coaching you can become more aware of what you are thinking and believing in any given moment. My deep listening and cultivation of your self-awareness regarding your thoughts and beliefs, will start to create big shifts in the way you start to perceive and experience yourself and the world as a result.

Getting in touch with our feelings in our body

In our sessions, together we can start to explore and get in touch with your feelings, and heed the wisdom that your feelings in your body have for you. You have an inner-compass which is pointing the way towards your happiness, and the point is to feel it. Often, we must learn to feel our way and become more aware of ‘being’ in our body instead of living life way up in our heads in a never-ending stream of painful or self-defeating thoughts. In coaching, this body-awareness can bring much presence into the ‘here and now’ and allow us to process our feelings in such a way as to connect with our inner-compass and restore equilibrium.

Transformational Coaching has a focus on your ‘being’.

If you just focus on changing what you are doing, then this is unproductive as it doesn’t address the source which drives what you do. Coaching will of course optimise your effectiveness at doing something and this will be the enth result of your transformation, stemming from transformation itself at a deep, core level of your being.

I personally feel that for one to truly change and transform, one must focus on their core, their ‘being.’ This is our operating system and all stems from the core of who you are including what thoughts you have, what behaviours drive you, and what values you embody. Doing flows from being, so it is the ‘being’ aspect that we address for real and transformational change.

Organically, over time, your whole life will express the fulfillment of this transformative change
